AAP rift: Shanti Bhushan denies holding meet with party members

Senior Aam Aadmi Party leader (AAP) Shanti Bhushan on Wednesday denied reports of calling a meeting of certain members of the party's national council on the eve of the political organisation's official meet.

New Delhi: Senior Aam Aadmi Party leader (AAP) Shanti Bhushan on Wednesday denied reports of calling a meeting of certain members of the party's national council on the eve of the political organisation's official meet.

"My attention is drawn to news reports that I called a meeting of some members of AAP's national council a day before the official meet. This is completely false, and appears to be mischievous," said Bhushan.

"I have neither called any such meeting nor would I attend it if it was called by someone. I shall only attend the official meeting on March 28 as a member of the national council and express my views there," he added.

Earlier in the day, AAP leader Ashok Talwar alleged that attempts are being made to harm the party ahead of its national council meeting on March 28.

Talwar had earlier written a letter to party chief Arvind Kejriwal, hinting at a 'conspiracy' against the political organisation. He had also urged Kejriwal to take action against what he termed 'anti-party' activity.
