Agartala: Tripura Chief Minister Manik Sarkar on Tuesday said the landslide victory of Aam Admi Party is the people's mandate for an "alternative to Congress and BJP" and a verdict for a stable government in Delhi.
"This is an excellent victory and people's mandate for an alternative to Congress and BJP and for a stable government," he told reporters here.
Sarkar, who is also a CPI(M) Politburo member, said, "This verdict is against corporatisation and neo-liberal economy, saffronisation and ignoring the interest of the minorities in the country and against an autocratic trend, which was manifested through issuance of ordinance by the central government by avoiding the Parliament."
The Chief Minister said the results have also sent a message that there can be an alternative to the BJP, which was necessary.
He, however, conceded that though his party CPI(M) contested a few seats in the Delhi elections, it failed to register any win due to organisational weakness.
