New Delhi: The All India Minorities Front
will support the Congress in the upcoming municipal polls in
the capital saying there were "efforts to divide votes of
minority communities" which could benefit the BJP.
The AIMF`s decision came after its president SS Asif met
Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit here on Monday.
In a statement, Asif alleged some political parties and
Independents were eyeing to divide the votes of minorities
especially Muslims.
"This may result to comeback of communal powers in the
three municipal corporations.
"That would mean that members of minority communities
will have to continue remaining depressed, oppressed and
neglected class of second rate citizens for another term," he
claimed.
