New Delhi: A day before the 21-day Monsoon Session of the Parliament begins, sources say that all NDA constituents have pledged support to the BJP on the Vyapam scam and the Lalit Gate row.
Sources add that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has also assured to take along all the NDA constituents with regard to the contentious Land Bill, during the NDA meeting held earlier at 7, Race Course Road.
Union Ministers Arun Jaitley, Venkaiah Naidu and Ram Vilas Paswan were among those present at the meeting, besides Prime Minister Narendra Modi and BJP president Amit Shah.
This latest meeting comes a day after the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) top brass met at the Prime Minister's residence to discuss the party's strategy for the Monsoon Session.
The party leadership reportedly discussed the strategy for the session as opposition parties have closed their ranks against the government on various issues, including the Vyapam scam, Lalit Modi controversy and the Socio Economic and Caste Census.
While the BJP-led NDA commands a sizeable majority in the Lok Sabha, it lacks numbers in the Rajya Sabha where opposition holds the key to passage of important legislations, including Goods and Services Tax and Land bill.
