Delhi saw another hot morning on Sunday with the mercury heading upwards.

New Delhi: Delhi saw another hot morning on Sunday with the mercury heading upwards but the weatherman predicted light rains towards the evening.

"Rains and slight thundershowers may occur towards the evening or night in some parts of the city," an official of the India Meteorological Department (IMD) said.

The minimum temperature recorded was 28.6 degrees Celsius, two notches above normal, while the maximum is expected to hover around 35 degrees, the official said.

"Skies will be cloudy for most part of the day," he added.

The maximum humidity was recorded at 81 percent while the minimum was 68 percent, the official said.

The total recorded rain this season till Sunday morning was 320 mm.
