Anti-MP rants: ‘No action needed against Ramdev`

The Delhi Police Thursday told a court here that they are not required to take any action on a complaint against Yoga Guru Baba Ramdev for his alleged objectionable remarks against Parliamentarians.

New Delhi: The Delhi Police Thursday told a court here that they are not required to take any action on a complaint against Yoga Guru Baba Ramdev for his alleged objectionable remarks against Parliamentarians as the same were made in Chhattisgarh.

In its action-taken-report (ATR), submitted to the court of Metropolitan Magistrate Anil Kumar, the police said "during the course of inquiry the place of incident was found to be in the area of Durg, Chhattisgarh as the aforesaid person made an objectionable speech in that area on May 2, 2012."

"On receiving the complaint we immediately sent the said complaint to the concerned state through proper channel. No more police action was required in the area of police station Patel Nagar," it added.

Earlier, the court had asked the city police to file its ATR on the complaint against Ramdev by a law student, Vibhor Anand, by June 22.

In his complaint, Anand had sought directions to the police to register an FIR against Ramdev on charges of sedition.
He said Ramdev had made general allegations against parliamentarians who "are running the system of the country" and it amounts to sedition.

The Yoga guru had attacked MPs calling them "dacoits and murderers".

Addressing media, while launching his month-long yatra in Durg, Chhattisgarh, Ramdev had said, "They are those people who don`t care, don`t love the farmers, the labourers or the people of this country."
The Yoga guru had said there are good people among the parliamentarians and he respected them. "But there are (also) dacoits, murderers, and illiterates among them. We have to save Parliament. We have to remove corrupt people," Ramdev had said.
