New Delhi: Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Friday said that a government official has been caught with the help of the newly launched anti-corruption helpline number.
Addressing reporters at Delhi Secreatarat, the Aam Aadmi Party leader said that the new intiative launched by the state government is a huge success and in two days 23,000 calls were received.
Divulging details about the helpline number, Kejriwal said sixteen cases are ready for sting and the trap is ready to catch the corrupt officials.
"Got many cases where people after agreeing for bribe backed out at last minute. It`s good that our measure is working," the Delhi Chief Minister asserted.
"Due to huge number of calls the government has launched an alternate anti-corruption hotline number 1031," Kejriwal said.
Kejriwal Wednesday announced the helpline number - 2735 7169 - which he said will help trap government employees who demand bribes.
Touching on the power cut issue, Kejriwal said data power compalints hotline has also been launched and the Delhiites can send a detailed report of power supply on the number - 9223166166.
Taking forward his poll promise on putting a check on `faulty` meters, the AAP leader said people who believe their meters are faulty can submit a written compalint to the DC office in their area.
"As the number of applications are expected to be very high the government will randomly select 10,000 applications and check the repective meters. If majority of the meters are found faulty then every complaint will be looked into."
He also said that an independent agency will be set up in 2-3 months to inspect the meters.
