New Delhi: Delhi BJP on Sunday demanded Rs
10,000 crore in the budget for providing basic amenities to
the unauthorised colonies in the national capital.
"More than 10 lakh people live in hellish conditions in
colonies like in Dwarka, Palam out of the total 50 lakh people
living in unauthorized colonies here," BJP Delhi Pradesh
President Vijender Gupta said, demanding a package of Rs
10,000 crore for such areas.
Gupta, addressing a public meeting in Dwarka, alleged
that at the time of assembly elections, Congress President
Sonia Gandhi distributed provisional certificates to these
colonies but not a single colony was regularised.
