BJP diverting attention by yatras: Congress
Congress slammed LK Advani’s led Jan Chetna Yatra that flagged off on Tuesday from Bihar’s Sitabdiara.
New Delhi: In the latest war of words between Centre and the main Opposition, Congress on Wednesday slammed LK Advani’s led Jan Chetna Yatra that flagged off on Tuesday from Bihar’s Sitabdiara.
While addressing a press conference in Delhi, Congress spokesman Abhishek Manu Singhvi claimed that their party has set up high power committee to curb corruption. He also stated that it was Congress which introduced the RTI Act, Benami act, whistleblower protection bill, and is now going to implement Procurement act on the guidelines set by the United Nations.
Singhvi reiterated that his party is extremely serious about ending corruption.
Singhvi further alleged that BJP’s veteran leader LK Advani is diverting the attention of public by conducting yatras.
He also said “there is a huge difference between saying things and implementing them”.
Questioning Advani’s claim of providing effective governance in the BJP-ruled states, he made a blistering attack on its corruption-tainted governments in various states like Gujarat, Uttarakhand and Karnataka.
Singhvi also questioned why BJP never campaigned against the rising unemployment and exploitation.
