New Delhi: BJP on Tuesday slammed the
government for rising incidents of crime in the city,
particularly for increasing cases of missing children.
In a statement, senior BJP leader V K Malhotra claimed
that over 100 children have "vanished" from the city in the
past 12 days.
Terming Delhi as "crime capital of the country", he
claimed that Delhi Police in a reply to an RTI query by NGO
Alliance for People`s Rights said that on an average 18
children go missing from the capital daily.
"It may be possible that there is an organised gang to
kidnap children," he said and urged the Home Ministry to take
stern steps to check crime in the city.
