New Delhi: The BJP on Saturday said it was
sceptical about the details of assets of certain Union
Ministers and said declaring such small amounts was bound to
create doubts in the minds of people too.
BJP chief spokesperson Ravishankar Prasad was responding
to questions by reporters when he was told that according to
some media reports certain Union Ministers had declared assets
that were paltry sums.
"The disclosures seem strange and unbelievable. It
creates ambiguity in the minds of people. The Union Ministers
should come clear on this," he said.
The details of assets and liabilities of the ministers
for the year 2008-09 were made public by the Prime Minister`s
Office after Central Information Commission`s decision in this
regard. Exercising his Right to Information, activist S C
Agrawal had sought these details.
The PMO had on Thursday released 400 pages of complete
details of assets declared by Union Ministers.
