New Delhi: BJP`s Satwinder Kaur Sirsa is the lone billionaire candidate in the upcoming Delhi civic polls with assets worth Rs 112.13 crore in her and her councilor- husband Manjinder Singh Sirsa`s name, an analysis of election
data has revealed.
According to the affidavit filed with the State Election
Commission, Satwinder (40) has movable property worth Rs 91.42
lakh and possess immovable property worth Rs 7.70 crore. She
is contesting from the now women-reserved ward of Punjabi
Bagh, which was earlier held by her husband.
Manjinder, an agriculturist who is also into real estate
business, has movable property worth Rs 46.34 crore. He also
owns immovable property worth Rs 57.18 crore.
A detailed analysis of Sirsa`s affidavit showed that the
candidate has filed her income tax returns last in 2004-05
when she paid Rs 1.31 lakh as tax while her husband paid Rs
51.36 lakh in 2010-11.
Satwinder has Rs 1.15 lakh cash in hand while Manjinder
has Rs four lakh. She has gold and diamonds worth Rs 38.25
lakh, besides investing in fixed deposit, saving accounts,
shares and insurance policies.
Though she does not own a single vehicle, her husband
owns four luxury cars Range Rover, Audi, Bentley and
Mercedes besides a Honda Civic and Innova. However, the couple
have taken a loan of Rs 25.65 crore.
BJP leader and MCD Leader of House Subhash Arya, who is
fielded from Rajouri Garden, has Rs 95.64 lakh movable
property while his wife has movable property worth Rs 91.46
