A blueline bus driver allegedly involved in a hit-and-run case was arrested in the national capital, police said today.

New Delhi: A blueline bus driver allegedly
involved in a hit-and-run case was arrested in the national
capital, police said today.

The arrested has been identified as Alamgir, a resident
of Old Seelam Pur. He was apprehended after a man informed
police about the registration number of the vehicle involved
in the accident on May 13 at Kamla Market bus stop.

One Ali Raja was killed in the accident.

"No eye witness was found at the spot and the injured was
shifted by PCR van to LNJP Hospital where he was declared
brought dead," a senior police official said.

"Stakeholders of Eyes and Ears Scheme were sensitised by
police. Further, several sources were also deployed. Two of
the team members were also detailed in plain clothes for
collecting information in this regard.

"After a painstaking exercise, police team came in
contact with a local vendor who revealed the number of the
vehicle," the official said.

Following this Alamgir was arrested.
