New Delhi: An anonymous call threatening to blow up the busy Anand Vihar metro station triggered panic on Thursday, but it turned out to be a hoax.

Police received a call at around 1:30 pm claiming that explosives were placed in the facility, following which dog squads and bomb disposal teams were rushed to the spot.

CISF sources said that after they received information in this regard from police, all precautionary measures were taken.

"All precautionary measures were taken. Dog squads and bomb disposal teams were rushed to the spot and the entire station was checked," CISF officials said.

However, Metro services at the station remained normal during the searches and unhindered exit of the passengers was ensured. Metro services on all corridors ran normally as per schedule.
