New Delhi: The Aam Aadmi Party on Monday accused the BJP of `shielding` Congress leader and former Delhi chief minister Sheila Dikshit and questioned as to why she was not being removed as the Governor of Kerala.

AAP posted the following question on the micro-blogging site Twitter - “Why is BJP government shielding Sheila Dikshit? Why is she not being removed?”

It also said that “CAG had confirmed that the Sheila Dikshit government wasted around Rs 3,000 crore in Delhi.”

Arvind Kejriwal led party also hinted at a deal between the Congress and the BJP to `protect each other`.

It said in a statement, “The attempts by BJP`s central government to ignore the indictment of the Dikshit and the erstwhile ministers of her Delhi cabinet by the CAG in the Rs 3,000 crore unauthorised colonies scam, clearly indicates a deal between the BJP and Congress to protect the corrupt leaders of each other,” PTI reported.

“When the central government is removing Governors appointed by the UPA on political grounds, then why Dikshit, against whom there are proven charges of corruption, is not being removed?” it further questioned.
The party has been demanding sacking of Dikshit and the registering of a case against her.

According to the CAG reports tabled in Parliament on Friday, Sheila Dikshit government wasted around Rs 3,000 crore in the name of providing basic services like sewer lines, water lines, roads and drainage to all the 895 unauthorised colonies which in reality were not provided at all.
