New Delhi: Can the name of Osama bin Laden
be taken in Rajya Sabha?
The query was raised by Shiv Sena leader Manohar Joshi on Wednesday during a discussion on terrorism when he was prevented
from naming some senior Congress leaders and a Bollywood star
by the Chair as they are not members of the House.
"I hope you and other members of the House will have
no no objection if I take name of Osama bin Laden jee?" Joshi
remarked evoking laughter.
The Shiv Sena leader was making an apparent reference
to remarks made by Congress leader Rahul Gandhi post-July 13
Mumbai blasts that all such incidents cannot be stopped and
that of Digvijay Singh on probe into the role of RSS and Hindu
terror outfits.
Joshi also criticised a famous Bollywood star who,
according to him, threw a party on the night of the terrorist
attack.
P J Kurien, who was in the chair, told Joshi that he
should desist from speaking about people who can not defend
themselves in the House.
Gandhi is a member of Lok Sabha while Digvijay is not
a member of either of the Houses.
The discussion on terror was with special reference to
blasts in Mumbai on July 13.
