CBI arrests Delhi Police sub-inspector for graft

The CBI has arrested a sub-inspector of Delhi Police and her son for allegedly demanding a bribe for extending favours.

New Delhi: The CBI has arrested a sub-inspector of Delhi Police and her son for allegedly demanding a bribe for extending favours.

Rahul, son of Sub Inspector Ramo Devi posted at Mandawali Police station, was nabbed red-handed by CBI while he was allegedly receiving a bribe of Rs 40,000. Later the sub-inspector was also apprehended, CBI sources said.

"It was alleged in the complaint that the accused Sub Inspector had demanded a bribe of Rs 40,000 from the complainant for showing favour in one of the cases being investigated by the accused against the relative of the complainant. After negotiations with the complainant, the accused sent her son to collect the bribe money," the agency said in a statement.
Both were produced before the special CBI court today and remanded in judicial custody till June 15.
