CBSE class XII examination: CM lauds `sparkling` performance by Delhi govt schools

Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit on Monday congratulated teachers, students, parents and entire team of Education department for sterling performance of the city government schools in CBSE class XII examination.

New Delhi: Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit on Monday congratulated teachers, students, parents and entire team of Education department for sterling performance of the city government schools in CBSE class XII examination.

Delhi Government-run schools in the city achieved a success rate of 88.65 per cent in the examination against last year`s 87.72 per cent.

"I congratulate students, teachers, parents and the entire team of Education Department for the sparkling performance of our schools in CBSE class-XII examination," Dikshit said.

Education Department officials said Delhi government-run schools achieved the top position among all other cities. Punchkula with 85.32 per cent is at second place and Chennai with 64.68 per cent success rate achieved the third place.

Dikshit said the number of government schools recording 100 per cent sucess rate has gone up from last year`s 78 to 109 this year.

"We are proud of our students. The Directorate of Education has been paying due attention to quality of teaching and evaluation of students. The real credit goes to the principals, teachers and officers of the Directorate of Education," the Chief Minister said.

Dikshit particularly congratulated girls who performed better than the boys this time as well in Delhi region. The pass percentage of girls in Delhi region was 91.42 per cent against boys` pass percentage of 82.44.

Four Rajkiya Pratibha Vikas Vidyalayas run by Delhi Government found place among 100 best schools in the National Capital Region, officials said.
