New Delhi: In an another incident of a VIP abusing its powers, a chemist was mercilessly beaten up in south Delhi`s Yusuf Sarai area. The guards were allegedly of a VIP woman who thrashed Ashok Malik for not having a particular cough syrup.
Malik said that a VIP’s driver came to his shop on September 17 and asked for the syrup which was out-of-stock. The driver then made a call to her VIP owner and asked the chemist to speak with her.
Malik said that the woman abused him on the phone for not having that particular medicine. On being asked who the woman was and why she was misbehaving, the driver told Malik to stay away from her. But Malik took her number from the driver and called back to confront her. The woman again behaved the same way and abused him.
After about 20 minutes, four security men barged into the shop and started beating up the chemist and pulled him out of the shop. The chemist was beaten up badly for 10 minutes.
Malik then called the police which arrived at the spot 30 minutes later. He said that the police haven’t registered an FIR in the incident yet. He claims that he even approached the police with a written complaint.
However, the police has denied his claims and said that Malik never approached them with a written complaint. The police said they offered to take the chemist for medical check-up to which he refused.
