New Delhi: Arvind Kejriwal-led Aam Aadmi Party on Monday accused the BJP-led NDA government at Centre of `snatching away` the power of Delhi government`s Anti Corruption Branch (ACB). It alleged that this was done fearing registration of more cases against several leaders if AAP comes to power.

Kejriwal posted on the micro-blogging site Twitter that the “Central government had quietly curtailed the powers of Delhi`s Anti Corruption Bureau(ACB).”

He suggested that it could be because ACB was investigating against Mukesh Ambani.

In another post he wrote - “Central government`s notification means that now ACB can`t book cases against Delhi police and DDA corruption. In our 49 days of government, ACB was primarily responsible for curbing corruption.”

The AAP leader questioned, “Why is central government hell bent upon demolishing ACB?”

He also wrote - “Central government`s move also shows that BJP is confident that AAP is forming next government. They have already started curtailing our powers.”

The official account of AAP also posted a series of tweets regarding the same.

Meanwhile, AAP senior leader Sanjay Singh told reporters in the national capital, “Centre had on July 23 issued a notification which favour to minimise the power of ACB of Delhi government. As AAP is set to come to power in Delhi, Centre is limiting the power of ACB, fearing the registration of more cases against several leaders and others,” as per PTI.

"When AAP was in power, Delhi Government had registered FIR against Mukesh Ambani, Murali Deora and Veerappa Moily in a case of corruption. To save their men, this notification has been brought by the new government", Singh said.

The AAP leader said that his party wants the Central Government to withdraw this notification immediately.

"If this notification is immediately not withdrawn by the Centre, AAP will launch a campaign against it and tell Delhiites about BJP working to limiting the power of ACB," Singh added.
