New Delhi: Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit on Friday expressed concern over the law and order situation in Delhi and asked police to take all required steps to make people feel "safe" in the city.
"I am very concerned about the law and order situation.
Police need to be more vigilant. We must improve policing,"
The Chief Minister was replying to question on the law
and order situation in the city. Delhi Police functions under
the Union Home Ministry.
"People should feel safe and secured. If there is an
environment of insecurity then we will have to address it,"
She also termed the increasing traffic volume in the
city as a "matter of great concern."
Asked whether she was satisfied with the preparation of
her government for the Commonwealth Games, Dikshit said: "I
cannot say I am satisfied, I cannot say I am not."
