New Delhi: Putting up a brave face ahead of Delhi Election results, Congress leader PC Chacko on Tuesday said that the party is not in as bad position as being predicted by exit polls.
Commenting on the Delhi Election results, which would be out in next few hours, Chacko said that that the party will respect the verdict of the people and improve party's way of functioning.
Defending Congress vice president, Chacko said that there was tremendous enthusiasm wherever Rahul Gandhi conducted road show in Delhi, adding, even our political opponents have accepted this.
Counting of votes in the assembly elections to Delhi began at 8 am today.
A total of 673 candidates are in the fray for 70 Assembly seats.
The mood is upbeat in Aam Aadmi Party with the exit polls saying that it will win the polls to 70-member assembly. Bharatiya Janata Party workers appeared apprehensive due to exit poll results predicting a defeat but party leaders have expressed confidence about a comfortable victory.
The Congress appears reconciled that it will finish third and party leaders are hoping its tally is not worse than eight it won in the 2013 election.
