New Delhi: A Delhi court on Monday asked the
city police to file a fresh status report with documentary
proof on a complaint against Anna Hazare and his team for
"instigating" people against the government during their
recent anti-graft campaign, allegedly resulting in the death
of a youth.
The court, which was scheduled to pass an order on the
complaint filed by Haryana native Satbir Singh against Anna
and his team, felt the status report filed by the police on
September 16 was not backed by any documentary evidence and
therefore sought a fresh report.
"Notice be issued to the Station House Officer (of Kamla
Market police station) along with a copy of this order to file
a fresh status report along with documentary proof of
permission and the recorded cassettes of speeches of
respondents (Anna and his team) and also to file documentary
proof regarding death of the youth Sandeep for further
consideration of the court," Metropolitan Magistrate Tyagita
The court has directed the Delhi Police to file its fresh
report on October 3.
