CPI-M, CPI welcome SC order on Ayodhya

Left parties CPI & CPI-M on Tues welcomed the SC order paving the way for the Allahabad HC to pronounce its judgement on the Ayodhya title suit & asked people to respect the verdict.

New Delhi: Left parties CPI and CPI-M on Tuesday welcomed the Supreme Court order paving the way for the Allahabad High Court to pronounce its judgement on the Babri
Masjid-Ramjanmabhoomi title suit and asked people to respect the verdict.

CPI-M General Secretary Prakash Karat said his party has been of the opinion that after the event of 1992 demolition of Babri Masjid, only way the matter can be resolved is through judicial process and court verdict.

"The Supreme Court decision is welcome as it cleared the way for the Lucknow Bench of Allahabad High Court to deliver its verdict," Karat said. CPI appealed to the people to respect the judicial verdict and not fall prey to any provocation.

"In the past, several attempts in negotiated settlement have failed, so court was moved. Whoever disagrees can move higher court," Party National Secretary D Raja said. "No one should create tension. People should not fall prey to any provocation," he said.

The Allahabad High Court will now deliver its verdict in the 60-year-old title suit on Thursday after the Supreme Court cleared the path by dismissing a petition for its deferment.
