New Delhi: With Commonwealth Games expected to bring with it traffic snarls, Delhi Police on Saturday appealed to citizens to consider the event as an opportunity to improve discipline on roads rather than an inconvenience.

"We should consider the CWG as an opportunity, rather than an inconvenience, to improve the discipline on the roads. I am sure we will come out of the experience with a resolve to make a difference on Delhi roads for all times to come," said Special Commissioner of Police (Traffic) Ajay Chadha.

In a post in Delhi Traffic Police`s Facebook account, he wrote, "we need your active participation in the effort". He said that the traffic police was getting a large number of response from citizens particularly about CWG lanes.

"If we are true to ourself, there should be no hesitation in admitting that observance of traffic rules in Delhi needs a lot of improvement. Such improvement cannot be brought about by Traffic Police alone without the active cooperation of each and every citizen," he added.
