Jaipur: Rainfall this season has been
deficit in only three of the 33 districts of Rajasthan as
compared to 25 last year.
Baran, Bundi and Banswara are the three districts where
rains have been under `Deficit (-60 per cent or less)`
category, while the rest have recorded normal (19 per cent to
-19 per cent), excess (20 per cent to 59 per cent) or abnormal
(60 per cent or more) rainfall this monsoon, according to an
IMD report.
Last year, no district had received rainfall above
normal category.
In this monsoon so far, Bikaner, Churu, Barmer,
Jaisalmer, Jalore and Sikar have recorded abnormal rains.
Bhilwara, Bharatpur, Dholpur, Karauli, Sawaimadhopur,
Dausa, Kota and Bundi recorded normal rainfall, while rest
districts, including the state capital, have received excess
rainfall.
Majority of the districts (13) have received excess
rainfall while the state as a whole has received normal
rainfall.
"The rainfall in the state from June 1 to September 15,
is 578.31 mm against the average normal rainfall of 508.81 mm.
It is 13.66 per cent above the normal rainfall," the report
said.
