Delhi: Nearly 14 children go missing every day in the national capital.
The data is alarming as the number of cases of child kidnapping coming up in Delhi is eight percent of the national total for such cases. Majority of them are trafficked for forced labour, commercial sexual exploitation, and drug peddling, claims a new study.
Released for the first time and disclosed in Parliament, the Union Home Ministry`s data says 5,111 children disappeared in the city in 2011 and 1,146 children have already gone missing till April 15 this year.
Earlier this month, Delhi police had already found missing around 700 children in the national capital in last three months.
