New Delhi: As political battle in the capital heats up, there are reports that actor-turned-politician Jaya Prada and former Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Shazia Ilmi are likely to join the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) further boosting the saffron party's prospects in the upcoming Delhi assembly election.

According to a Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader, the party is banking on Jaya Prada's glamour quotient to win the New Delhi seat won by Kejriwal in 2013 after defeating three-time chief minister Sheila Dikshit.

Jaya Prada fought the 2014 Lok Sabha election as a Rashtriya Lok Dal candidate from Bijnor but lost.

Ápart from Prada and Ilmi, rumours are rife that former AAP legislator Vinod Kumar Binny too is likely to join the BJP soon, the sources said.
