Delhi BJP chief to file defamation suit against CM

Delhi BJP President Vijender Gupta said he will file a defamation suit against Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit.

New Delhi: Delhi BJP President Vijender Gupta on Monday said he will file a defamation suit against Chief
Minister Sheila Dikshit for levelling allegations in
connection with NGO run by his wife and "harassing" him, as
she has not replied to his legal notice.

"In view of MCD elections, Delhi government at the
instance of Chief Minister has tried to defame and harass me,
by service notice to `Sampurna`. But the Chief Minister did
not reply to my notice because she had no appropriate answer,"
Gupta said in a statement.

He said he will file case for "damages and defamation".
Gupta said that BJP would not sunncumb to such "pressure
tricks" of Delhi government.

He said `Sampurana` was a reputed NGO of Delhi and
provided training to thousands of young men and women for
getting employment.

On Monday last, the Chief Minister had questioned the
working of `Sampurana`. Gupta had sent a notice to Dikshit
asking her to apologise within a week for levelling charges
against `Sampurana` or else legal action would be taken.

Dikshit has not replied yet.
Delhi government had slapped two show-cause notices on
Sampurna, run by Delhi BJP chief Vijender Gupta`s wife, for
failing to provide the annual list of governing body members
since its inception in 2000 and also the notice was issued by
Firm and Societies Section of the Industries department.
