New Delhi: The much-awaited hop-on, hop-off bus service was formally launched here on Monday to provide tourists a smooth ride to historical monuments, but commercial operations will begin only on October 1.
A bus packed with journalists was flagged off by Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit from her residence on the occasion of World Tourism Day.
When the service begins operations on Friday, it can be availed from nearly 20 locations -- at a cost of Rs 300 per person.
The service will connect historical monuments, museums and other places of tourist interest in the city. There will be a bus every half hour.
