New Delhi: A Delhi court on Tuesday sentenced a
man to life imprisonment for killing his ex-employer after
resenting his being subjected to sodomy.

Additional Sessions Judge Dharmesh Sharma also imposed a
fine of Rs 12,500 on Yogesh Sharma, in his early twenties,
after holding him guilty of murder and robbery under the IPC.

Sharma murdered Sunder Lal Jain (55), who was the owner
of Mala Silk and Sarees store at Chandni Chowk here. He killed
Jain at his shop and robbed him of over Rs six lakh on June
24, 2006.

Sribhagwan, who assisted Yogesh in concealing stolen
goods, was let off by the court with lighter punishment of the
jail term which he has already undergone.

"The convict in committing the crime was swayed by the
conduct of the deceased who was probably exploiting him by
making him subject to sodomy and he naturally had immense
hatred for the deceased," the court said.

The two were apprehended by the Delhi Police on October
28, 2006, from Kolkata at the instance of Sharma`s girlfriend
whom he used to call from his cellphone while in hiding.

Sharma had run away with Rs six lakh and other valuables,
including the mobile phone of the businessman, along with
Sribhagwan. The police claimed to have recovered Rs 58,000 and
some electronic gadgets which the duo had purchased using the
looted money.
