Exit poll predictions crown Kejriwal as Delhi CM, put BJP second, humiliation for Congress​

New Delhi: With balloting in a fiercely contested Assembly elections in the national capital ending on Saturday, both Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) claim they are poised to win as over 67 percent electorate cast their votes with enthusiasm to elect a new government here, a year after Arvind Kejriwal resigned after being the chief minister for 49 tumultuous days. 

From a triangular contest last time, the battle now is being seen directly between the AAP and BJP, with Congress a mere spectator in the polls. After the polling ended, all exit polls predicted that Arvind Kejriwal has overcome the Modi wave and his party is set to win majority in Delhi.

Today's Chanakya, which has been almost spot on with its prediction in the General Elections 2014,  projected that the Aam Aadmi Party will get an outright majority with 48 seats firmly putting the crown of Delhi chief minister on Kejriwal's head, BJP+ would emerge second with 22 seats, while predicting a complete wipe out for the Congress in the national capital.

While IndiaTV-C-Voter predicted 31 to 39 seats for AAP, BJP+ winning 27 to 35 and Congress down from 8 last time to just 2 to 3 seats this time around.

ABP News-Nielsen in its survey also gave majority to AAP with 39 seats, with prediction of 28 seats for the BJP+ and only 3 for the Congress party.

According to Times Now-C-Voter, AAP is likely to win 31 to 39 seats, coming second to it is BJP+ with 27 to 35 seats in its kitty. Congress, predicted by the survey will manage only 2 to 4 seats in Delhi. 

India Today-Cicero exit poll predicts AAP close to getting majority bagging 35 to 43 seats, while BJP+ appears to be winning 23 to 29 seats and Congress facing another drubbing getting only 3 to 5 seats.

Delhi on Saturday saw huge voter turnout with over 67 percent polling for the 70-member Assembly.

The results will be out on February 10.
