New Delhi: The Delhi government on Friday said
it is inquiring into the incident in which students of a
school run by it fell ill after having mid-day meal.

"We are looking into it (the incident)," Chief Minister
Shiela Dikshit told reporters when asked whether the
government is contemplating any action against the school
authorities.
Around 30 girls of the Government Girls Higher Secondary
School near Darya Ganj were hospitalised yesterday after they
showed symptoms of diarrhoea soon after having lunch. They
were rushed to the LNJP hospital and two of them were
administered drip.

Transport Minister Arvinder Singh Lovely said a committee
has been formed to probe the matter and the government will
consider taking action based on its report.
Police have registered a case of endangering human life
by an act of negligence and have also collected samples of the
food supplied to the school by an NGO. "No arrest has been
made so far. We are investigating the matter," said DCP
(central) Jaspal Singh.
