Chairing a high-level meeting with officials of Delhi
Urban Shelter Improvement Board and Delhi State Industrial and
Infrastructure Development Corporation, Urban Development
Minister A K Walia said the flats will be constructed at Pooth
Khurd, Tikri and Savda Ghevra areas.

The flats will be constructed under the Jawaharlal Nehru
Urban Renewal Mission at a cost of Rs 1,847 crore, Walia said
after the meeting.

"The three projects relating to construction of around
35,000 flats have been vetted by the HUDCO," he said.

While DSIIDC will construct 18,760 flats at Pooth Khurd
with an estimated cost of Rs.1020 crore, it will also build
8,600 flats at Tikri with an estimated cost of Rs.419 crore.

The DUSIB will take up construction of 7620 flats at
Savda Ghevra-III with an estimated cost of Rs.408 crore, he
said, adding the construction will be completed within 18
months after award of work.
The Minister said he has instructed the DSIIDC and the
DUSIB to ensure construction within stipulated time.

He said the DSIIDC has already completed construction of
9660 flats whereas another 4,144 will be ready by April.

The DUSIB has assured that construction of 1024 flats
at Dwarka will be completed in all respects by April, 2011, he
said.
