New Delhi: Delhi government will soon conduct an online test to fill 10,000 teaching posts.

"The process and official formalities for recruitment of nearly 10,000 teachers are underway and LG's approval has also been sought. Preparations for the test are in place and as soon as his approval is granted, the dates of the test will be announced, a senior government official said.

The guest teachers, who have been demanding to be made permanent, employed at government schools work against the vacancies there.

Delhi government in December 2015, had sanctioned 9,623 additional teaching posts.

Besides, the general candidates, guest teachers will also be eligible to appear in the test.

However, the guest teachers will be given five years relaxation in age criterion. They also be given a weightage of 0.75 marks for one year teaching experience, the officer said.

The weightage will be maximum for three years teaching experience totalling at the most 2.25 marks.

There are nearly 17, 000 guest teachers employed at 1021 schools of Delhi government.
