New Delhi: Delhi Government on Saturday took up
with the Centre the issue of delay in construction of flats
under in situ relocation of slum dwellers in certain areas in
the city.
Delhi Labour and Industries Minister Ramakant Goswami
in a letter to Union Urban Development Minister Kamal Nath,
has requested him to look into the matter so that construction
of the flats can be taken up at Kathputli colony at the
earliest.

"The residents are feeling deceived as the promised
relocation is still looking illusive," he said in the letter.
The construction could not be taken due to certain
issues with the Delhi Development Authority (DDA) which comes
under the administrative control of Urban Development
ministry.
