New Delhi: Delhi Lt Governor Najeeb Jung on Wednesday greeted the people on the eve of Diwali festival.
"I hope the festival of lights brightens the lives of all, particularly those who are most in need. I hope it brings good health, happiness, and prosperity to one and all," Jung said in a statement.
He said the festival of light symbolises the victory of good over evil, light over darkness, and hope over despair.
He advised people to celebrate Diwali with great cheer and happiness and with sweets and lights, but to refrain from causing noise and air pollution.
He also urged the citizens to take precautions against mishaps and ensure that the festival is celebrated in its true spirit and spreads well-being and happiness for all.
