Delhi Metro train runs between stations with doors open; operator suspended

New Delhi: The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) on Thursday suspended a train operator after it came to light that the doors of a Delhi-bound train from Gurgaon remained open while the metro covered the distance between two stations on the line. The incident happened at around 9:40 am today the train left Arjangarh station on the Yellow Line. The left-side doors failed to shut when the train departed Arjangarh and remained open till the train reached Ghittorni, next station on the line. Passengers had informed the operator of the train mid-way about the doors failing to shut automatically. “It was an error by the train operator and he has been suspended with immediate effect. The matter is being investigated,” DMRC said in a statement. The Yellow Line starts from Jahangirpuri in North Delhi and runs till Huda City Centre in Gurgaon, Haryana.
