New Delhi: Beleaguered Delhi Minister Raj
Kumar Chauhan could be in for trouble if he fails to get legal
redress in the wake of Lokayukta seeking his removal for
trying to influence investigations in a tax evasion case.
"We are not at all saying that we will ignore it
as it was done in Karnataka. There is a legal process. If
there is no change in the situation after legal recourse then
certainly action will be taken," party spokesperson Abhishek
Singhvi told reporters at the AICC briefing.

At the same time he sought to differentiate this issue
from the Karnataka Lokayukta`s indictment of the BJP
government of the state on land allotment irregularities.

He was responding to a query on what sort of action
Congress would prefer against Chauhan after Lokayukta`s report
as it was seeking resignation of Karnataka Chief Minister
whose government was indicted by state Lokayaukta there.
The Delhi Lokayukta has recommended the removal of
Chauhan from the council of ministers for trying to influence
a team of sales tax officers, which was examining a case of
possible tax evasion at a resort in South Delhi.

Opposition parties have demanded his sacking.
