Delhi most densely populated

The national capital is the most densely populated among all states and Union Territories of the country with 11,297 people per sq km, according to the provisional Census data.

New Delhi: The national capital is the most
densely populated among all states and Union Territories of
the country with 11,297 people per sq km, according to the
provisional Census data.
Delhi is followed by the UT of Chandigarh with 9,252
people per sq km, Puducherry (2,598), Daman and Diu (2,169),
Lakshadweep (2,013), Bihar (1,102) and West Bengal (1,029).

The least populated states or UTs are Arunachal Pradesh
(17 people per sq km), Andaman and Nicobar Islands (46),
Mizoram (52) and Sikkim (86).

The highest population density in the country has been
reported in Delhi`s north-east district (37,346 per sq km)
while the lowest has been recorded in Dibang Valley in
Arunachal Pradesh (one per sq km).
