New Delhi: One person has been arrested for allegedly shooting dead another man over a property dispute, police said Tuesday.
Wasim, a resident of Kureni in Narela, was arrested from Raja Harish Chander hospital at about 11.00 AM yesterday for allegedly murdering one Riyassuddin on September 27, a senior police official said.
According to police, Wasim, along with his associate also named as Wasim, reached Keshav Bhawan society situated near Kureni Village of Narela along with Riyassuddin when one of the Wasims brought Riyasuddin on the ground by kicking him on the legs. Wasim, the history sheeter, fired at him from the point blank range from his pistol. Both of them fled, they said.
During interrogation, Wasim said he had a dispute with the victim over a plot of 40 square yards situated in their village.
The other reason for the enmity was that once the victim had paid him Rs 4,500 but he didn`t return. Once Riyasudddin had insulted him over the issue and since then he had been looking for a chance to avenge the insult, said S B S Tyagi, DCP Crime and Railways.
