New Delhi: Union Urban Development and Housing Minister M Venkaiah Naidu on Saturday said that Delhi should vote for a government which is ready to work with the Centre and strengthens the hands of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
"Delhi should elect such a government which is ready to cooperate with Prime Minister Narendra Modi, which is ready to strengthen the hands of Prime Minister Modi, we need such a government in Delhi," Naidu said while addressing the BJP's rally at Ramlila Maidan here.
He also made an assessment of what had been done by the Centre in the Lok Sabha.
"A lot has been done for Delhi in the Lok Sabha. The Centre has decided on the regularisation of the unauthorised colonies, regarding the E-rickshaws, or Nazul estates (from leasehold to freehold)," said Naidu.
"We have extended the National Capital Territory of Delhi Laws (Special Provisions) Amendment Bill, 2014 to year 2017 and about 2000 unauthorised colonies have been regularised and have worked regarding the necessary changes in the master plan of New Delhi, and also started work to build houses under DDA," he added.
Naidu further claimed that the BJP would build houses for the slum dwellers in Delhi.
The BJP, which has been out of power in Delhi for the past 16 years, is confident of winning the polls with a clear majority this time with the help of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's charisma.
