Delhi Police smashes gang involved in vehicle thefts
Delhi Police on Thursday claimed to have smashed a gang of youths involved in vehicle thefts with the arrest of four persons, including an engineering and a BBA student, and recovery of eight stolen motorcycles.

have smashed a gang of youths involved in vehicle thefts with
the arrest of four persons, including an engineering and a BBA
student, and recovery of eight stolen motorcycles.
The arrested have been identified as Amar Singh (20),
Ashish Kumar (20), Mahipal (18) and Kamlesh (22), said Chhaya
Sharma, Deputy Commissioner of Police (South).
They were arrested from Fatehpur Beri yesterday with
stolen motorcycles on a tip off.
"They told us that they were involved in more than 18
cases of vehicle theft cases. Two of them are students of a
prestigious institute in Rajasthan and belong to good
families. All are common friends," Sharma said.
They also said that they used to dispose off stolen
vehicles to one Ram Singh in Alwar in Rajasthan and to Kamal
Chaudhary in Jaipur for Rs 3,000-6,000 depending upon the make
and model of vehicle.
Amar, whose father is an agriculturist, entered the
world of crime in order to cater his high expanses and lavish

gang with the engineering students and started auto lifting,"
Ashish is a BBA student of a prestigious institute in
Rajasthan. His father works as labourer in Rajasthan. In
order to earn quick money and to impress his girlfriends, he
started auto lifting.
Mahipal is a B Tech (2nd year) student of a
prestigious institute in Rajasthan.
Kamlesh was influenced with the lavish life style of
his friends and joined them in crime.
