Delhi polls: AAP's Manish Sisodia files nomination

Manish Sisodia and Satyendra Jain of Aam Aadmi Party were among 139 candidates who filed their nomination papers on Monday for Delhi assembly polls to be held on February 7.

New Delhi: Manish Sisodia and Satyendra Jain of Aam Aadmi Party were among 139 candidates who filed their nomination papers on Monday for Delhi assembly polls to be held on February 7.

According to the Delhi Chief Electoral Officer's Office, a total of 220 nomination papers were filed, out of which, 95 nomination papers were by AAP candidates while 61 nomination by Congress' nominees.

Sisodia and Jain filed their nominations from Patparganj and Shakur Basti respectively and AAP's Girish Soni from Madipur and Sanjeev Jha from Burari have filed their nomination papers.

30 nomination papers were today filed by independent candidates.

Meanwhile, 106 FIRs have been lodged against political parties for violation of the model code of conduct, out of which 45 FIRs are against Aam Aadmi Party.

Besides, 21 FIRs and 25 FIRs were lodged against BJP and Congress respectively. 8 FIRs were lodged against BSP and one FIR against Akali Dal.

According to CEO's office, as on January 18, a total 7828 persons have been booked under various sections of CRCP/DP Act as preventive action measure, 50 licensed arms were deposited, 9 unlicensed arms and 1028 were cartridges seized.

A total number of 1402 hoardings were removed from Public Property till date.

An official said that till Date, 129 bottles, 20,025 quarters of Indian Made Foreign Liquor, 166 bottles, 23 Half & 14585 quarters of country liquor were seized as part of expenditure management measure.
