In what could be an interesting poll battle, former Aam Aadmi Party leader Vinod Kumar Binny is likely to contest upcoming Delhi Assembly elections against AAP chief Arvind Kejriwal, as per news reports on Monday.

New Delhi: In what could be an interesting poll battle, former Aam Aadmi Party leader Vinod Kumar Binny, who joined BJP recently, is likely to contest upcoming Delhi Assembly elections against AAP chief Arvind Kejriwal, as per news reports on Monday.

However, according to some reports, Binny is likely to fight Assembly polls from Patparganj constituency.

Binny was an AAP leader earlier and was expelled from the party after he allegedly targeted Kejriwal.

Apart from Binny, ex-AAP leader Shazia Ilmi and Team Anna member and former IPS officer Kiran Bedi have also joined the party.

Binny became a legislator from Lakshmi Nagar constituency in the 2013 Delhi election, defeating Congress leader Ashok Kumar Walia by around 8,000 votes.

Soon after, he rebelled against the AAP and accused the party of betraying the people of Delhi and straying from its principles following which he was expelled from the party in January 2014.
