New Delhi: A trial court has awarded over Rs 6 lakh in compensation to the family of a motorcyclist who died here after being hit by a speeding van in 2008.

In an April 26 order, the court held van driver Vikram Singh guilty under the Motor Vehicles Act. The dead man was Ram Chand, 21, a supervisor in a factory.
