Delhi: Speeding car injures five

A woman and her four children were Friday hit by a speeding Honda City car in south Delhi`s Vasant Vihar area.

New Delhi: A woman and her four children were Friday hit by a speeding Honda City car in south Delhi`s Vasant Vihar area.

According to police, Ganga, 28, was going towards nearby Munirka village with her children, Rashmi, 7, Mohit, 6, Puja, 4 and 6 month old baby Kajal when the speeding car hit them near Chinmaya School. The driver Dilip, 20, was arrested from the spot.

One Sujan, 22, was also received minor injuries in the accident.

"We received a call in evening around 6.30. Police officials rushed to spot where they arrested the driver, Dilip," a police official said.

Upon investigation, it was revealed that the car belonged to one Om Asthana of Vasant Vihar and Dilip was employed with him as a car cleaner. He was driving without license and had taken the car out for a joyride when the incident took place.

All injured were rushed to nearby Safdarjung hospital.
