New Delhi: Resident doctors with the Lady
Hardinge Medical College in the city went on a flash strike
on Wednesday causing inconvenience to patients after a scuffle broke
out between a doctor and another employee of the hospital.
The resident doctor and a driver with the hospital had
a quarrel over treatment of a patient at around 2 PM which
turned ugly. For nearly four hours the doctors called off
work, sources said, adding that the medicos have threatened to
go on an indefinite strike if action is not taken against the

busy and got annoyed with the employee for having jumped the
queue. Both the doctor and the employee got agitated and
started hurling abuses at each other and one of them started
beating up the other," a doctor with the hospital said.
"Though we are back to work but we have demanded
immediate action against the employee or else we will go on an
indefinite strike from tomorrow," he said.
Last October, doctors had gone on a strike for over
ten hours demanding dismissal of an employee who had allegedly
manhandled a post-graduate student of the hospital.
