New Delhi: Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit has
said her government was doing its best to present a beautiful
city to the visitors during the upcoming Commonwealth Games by
putting up one million potted plants at various places across
the national capital.

The Expenditure Finance Committee of the government
yesterday sanctioned six projects worth Rs 50 crore to improve
various infrastructure in the city.

"The area around Commonwealth Games venues and Roads
leading to the venues will have a soothing fragrance of
beautiful and colourful flowers during the Games.

"The fragrance will give a pleasing feeling to Indian
and International visitors, players and tourists during
Commonwealth Games," Dikshit said during meeting of the
Committee.

Besides the plants, other beautification works like
improvement of footpath would also be undertaken as part of
the preparation, she said.
