New Delhi: Traffic police personnel should show extreme patience while dealing with people on roads, said Special Commissioner of Police (Administration) Vimla Mehra on Monday.

She was speaking as chief guest at a one-day training programme on "Road Rage issues, Soft skills and stress management" organised for traffic police personnel.

"Policemen should be very considerate and sensitive while dealing with the public because people undergo tremendous stress for various professional and personal reasons. Hence, there is need for traffic police personnel to understand their situation and show extreme patience and tact while dealing with the citizens on roads," she said.

The one-day training workshop is the first in a series of training programmes to be held by the training wing of Delhi Police at the Specialised Training Centre (STC), Rajinder Nagar police station.

Special Commissioner of Police (Training) Kishan Kumar said: "Traffic police should show exemplary behaviour while discharging their duties on the roads."

The objective of the training workshop is to cover maximum police personnel deployed in traffic units and others with maximum public interface, Kumar said.
